A quick performance test
Use the same camera, location and number of open clients. Compare responsiveness for a short session after each change, rather than changing every option together.
| CHECK | WHAT TO KNOW |
|---|---|
| Busy effects | Lower detail, then confirm attack cues remain clear |
| Unreadable UI | Adjust resolution or supported display settings |
| Audio fatigue | Lower music independently of useful alerts |
Prepare for the journey
Check off what you have ready before entering, crafting or changing your build.
Step by step
- 01
Choose a resolution where UI text and skill icons are comfortable to read. If window mode is available, test it before a long session.
- 02
Reduce the most expensive visual effects first when crowded scenes stutter. Compare the same location before and after the change.
- 03
Keep enough effect visibility to read attacks and event mechanics. Completely hiding useful combat cues can make a smooth client harder to play.
- 04
Set sound and music separately. Leave alerts audible if you rely on them for inventory, combat or event cues.
What makes the difference
Lag caused by a network interruption is different from low rendering performance. Note whether movement stops entirely or the scene is simply drawn slowly.
